EKanoo Racing: Past, Present, and Future…

By Yariel Rivera

With the launch of the new Outlaw GT86, the team wasted no time in showing what the machine was capable of. In its first few full passes, the car ran some promising runs in the 6.3 zone. As they dialed the car in run after run, the numbers continued dropping. This all new purpose built machine was ready for prime time action. A few months after it first hit the track, the EKanoo Racing team blew the lid off the Import drag racing world after running a stunning 5.77@247 MPH. The second quickest Import at the time was barely in the 5.9 second zone! The GT86 continued to run in the 5.7 to 5.8 second zone. Its USA tour reaffirmed what the machine was capable of, first by quickly setting the USA Import record at Orlando Speed World by running a 5.89 246 MPH. Then, in a PDRA race hosted at US 131 Motorsports Park in Michigan, the team and car came together in a wonderful show of might by finishing 2nd place in a field entirely dominated by V8s! In what would become its last big hurrah, the team and machine were out on the 1320 once again looking to reclaim its Import Record 2 days after the New Generation 2JZ Pro Camry managed to best it by running a 5.739@249 MPH. Gary White, (once again behind the wheel of the trusty GT86), piloted the beast to a new record just .007 quicker at 5.732@252 MPH, once again reclaiming the Import 1/4 mile drag record!!
