The Bahrain Drag Racing Championship is the premier drag racing league in the Persian Gulf, attracting over 100 entries per round. It is a relatively new series that, in its short time being active, has produced seriously fast cars and even better racing action. With the construction of the Bahrain International Circuit, the series found a home in a world-class facility alongside the elite F1 circuit. With almost 10 years under their belt, the racing action has just begun for the BDRC.

The BDRC gained notoriety as the Ekanoo Racing team began their assault on the drag racing records. With the emergence of the world class team from Ekanoo Racing, the BDRC had someone capable of running at the top or being the top in whatever class they ran in. Along with their world-famous Outlaw 6-Cylinder GT86, the Ekanoo Racing team holds records with many different vehicles. The BDRC competition has seen Ekanoo set records with an Outlaw 10.5 Supra, a GT-R, and even a Porsche, among others. The team’s V8 powered entries are also always ultra-competitive, coming out on top in many different rounds. The new season promises to deliver like never before.

After a successful trip to the USA, Ekanoo Racing is back in Bahrain to prepare for the fast approaching opener to their season. Additionally, the team has thrashed for 34 straight days to complete a brand new racecar, a Pro Mod Lexus RCF. The Ekanoo Racing team is facing stiff competition this year, especially in the V8 categories.

The BDRC’s 2016/2017 competition is set to begin the second week of November with many highly anticipated entries from all over the Gulf. Just like the Ekanoo Racing Team has recruited talent from all over the world, Pat Musi has been picked up from the USA to tune a Pro-Nitrous entry of the Al-Anabi team; not only the Bahrain league but also in the home races of the team in Qatar. As the racing becomes more and more competitive, it also becomes more world-wide as the talent behind-the-scenes follows suit. This season promises to see the Ekanoo Racing Team dominate once again but stiff competition is coming in from all around the Gulf.
